Apple's Terminal app on the Mac is a great tool for diving into the command line, but it isn't the only option available. The Mac Observer rounded up several alternatives to Terminal you can use. Using the built-in SSH client in Mac OS X. Mac OS X includes a command-line SSH client as part of the operating system. To use it, goto Finder, and selext Go - Utilities from the top menu. Then look for Terminal. This setting is enforced by an extension for mac. Terminal can be used to get a local terminal window, and also supports SSH connections to remote servers. I have not used coolterm on the mac (haven't used a mac in years), but coolterm on windows is a great terminal program (and I have used many emulators and a few vt100s in the last 35 or so years). #628 I have not used coolterm on the mac (haven't used a mac in years), but coolterm on windows is a great terminal program (and I have used many emulators and a few vt100s in the last 35 or so years). Do you have a problem with the usb-serial cable driver perhaps? I have had the best luck with ftdi-based cables, but have also used prolific versions. I also use beagle-term on a chromebook; not too refined but handy and the chromebook recognizes the cable with no driver needed. Now I am also bringing my first linux-mint system to life, so will need to find a terminal-emulator/driver for that too. gil From: 'Neal Aguillard via groups.io' <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [TinyTrak] Terminal emulation program for Mac KN4USN > On Dec 6, 2020, at 7:52 PM, Neal Aguillard via groups.io <[email protected]> wrote: > I have an older MacBook Air.
